After 25 years Midsumma is officially a Melbourne institution that brings acceptance, celebration and a special glow to our city. The City of Melbourne continues to support Midsumma as it aligns with our values and helps us to create an inclusive community.

With 120 events spanning all elements of queer culture including performing and visual arts, literature, film, spoken word, community and sports, it is truly a community event that caters for all.

Congratulations to all involved in the festival on reaching 25 years of Midsumma. It is a significant milestone for both the festival and our city.

Congratulations to Midsumma on 25 years of celebrating – and providing an important platform for – Victoria’s diverse and creative GLBTI community.

What started as a ten-day visual arts event is now recognised as one of the top five gay and lesbian arts and cultural festivals in the world. Midsumma brings together 100,000 people of all ages and from all walks of life for a three week celebration across the city. It’s a festival that has it all – art, music, performance, community, sport and sunshine.

25 may be known as the silver anniversary, but this year’s action-packed program is as good as gold.

Enjoy Midsumma 2013!
