A double feature event!
JOY 94.9 – Women on Waves presents – Back to the 60's & 70's.
We all loved the swinging 60's and the mad cap 70's and how cool was the music! This one-off Fundraiser for JOY will feature the cream of Australia's female performers including BLUE HOUSE and superstar guests, all singing tracks from the 60's & 70's...go go dancers, roller skates, flower power, this will be the smash of the Festival!
Afterwards: the horas of Bucharest!
Their style is very sexy, with lots of black leather, mesh shirts and macho jewellery from downtown Cluj Napoca / Kolozsvar (capital of Transylvania). Members of the band have toured to Hungary and Berlin and performed a hommage to Freddy Mercury, idolised in Romania for his masculinity, at the National Folk Festival in Canberra 2006, where they were finalists in the Inspired Queen competition. Transylvanian Gyspy Kings played at Falls Festival Marion Bay, Tasmania 2007 and 2009 (Who is Marion? we want to meet) and also it's played at Falls Festival Lorne, Victoria in da Village. Now it's at Red Bennies for Midsumma 2012!
