Midsumma is proud to be presenting such a strong Sports program in 2013! From the slower paced lawn bowls (with G&T) to high-adventure bouldering and the 'come and try' Team Melbourne Midsumma Sports Day, there is no excuse for not working up a sweat this Summa! Many of these events are hosted by teams that operate all year-round, we encourage participants to try out a multitude of sports during Festival... who knows, one just might stick!

A Perfect Midsumma Afternoon 20 Jan 12-6pm Williamstown Croquet Club Enjoy a tongue-in-cheek afternoon with the best little croquet club in town. What could be more divine on a warm Midsumma afternoon than a Pimms or G&T on our gracious verandas, with a scrummy cream tea and your best friends around you? Event Details ▸
Australian Same-sex Dancesport Championships 2013 2 Feb 6-11pm St Kilda Town Hall Come see the sequins, fake nails and feathers fly...and that's just the boys! Hosted by the fabulous Damian Nicholas& Kaye Sera in the gorgeous St Kilda Town Hall. Event details ▸
Bent Kranks Bike Ride 19 Jan 1-4pm Starting Point: Footscray Park A free bike ride along the picturesque Maribyrnong River. This 15 km round trip will go up the Maribyrnong River to a fabulous lookout point across to the city skyline, returning in time for the Team Melbourne BBQ. Event Details ▸
Cycling with The Nomads 18 Jan 11am-2:30pm Starting Point: Camberwell Railway Station Join the Nomads' Friday cycling group for a leisurely 19 km cycle from Camberwell Station to the beautiful Valley Reserve in Mount Waverley. Event details ▸
Free Sailing Day and Music on the lawn 20 Jan 10am-4pm Altona Yacht Club Try sailing free on Altona Bay, relax with a glass of wine and live music from the gorgeous sounds of Nyssa Bradsworth. Event details ▸

Motafrenz Magical Mystery Tour 20 Jan 9:45am-3:30pm Starting point: Como Park North A fun drive and picnic in the country. Come join your Motafrenz for this great annual event. Try your best navigation, observation and problem solving skills in the most enjoyable way. Event details ▸
Nomads Community Walk 20 Jan 10am-5pm Starting point: Royal Park Railway Station Join the Annual Nomads Midsumma Free Community Walk, which tracks through Royal Park, Treasury and Fitzroy Gardens, Yarra Park, Royal Botanical Gardens and into Albert Park. Event details ▸
Team Melbourne Midsumma Sports Day 19 Jan 10am-4pm Victoria University & Footscray Park A Sports Day offering sports such as Running, Cycling, Swimming, Volleyball, Badminton, Soccer, Rugby Union, Tennis, Rowing, Dance Sport, Water Polo, Ultimate Frisbee and a sizzling lunchtime sausage sizzle to socialise - beside the beautiful Maribyrnong River.
