Midsumma

Midsumma and Laird Hotel (149 Gipps St, Abbotsford) invite male artists within the community to submit entries for the Men On Men Art Competition 2009.

• Artworks are expected to be of a masculine nature.
• Artworks will be displayed at the Laird Hotel from 10th June through to 27th June 2009.
• The winner will be announced on Saturday 20th June as part of Southern Hibearnation 2009. 
• Multi-media formats accepted.

Last year's winners were Ross Brownsdon & Travis De Jonk - see details of last year's Men on Men competition. This year for the first time, all artwork will be displayed for a week after the winner is announced.

Open day will be Saturday 13th June – entire community welcome from 2pm-5pm. 

Laird Hotel and Midsumma are pleased to announce details of the first prize for this years Men on Men Art Competition. This competition is all about exposing up & coming talent in the community, specifically male artists and their interpretation of masculinity. Of course the best time to do this is during Southern HiBearnation, the biggest gathering of bears & their admirers in the southern hemisphere.

Thanks to Evolution Publishing, the winning artist will get their image on the front page of MCV as well as an article in the same issue. And if that’s not enough exposure, thanks to Laird Hotel & Midsumma, the first prize also includes an exhibition at the Laird during Midsumma 2010, with all event fees covered.
