Dear [NAME],
We’re emailing you because we need your support. As you may already know, Midsumma is a Not For Profit organization that produces an annual three week festival showcasing and supporting Queer culture. It’s also an event
that’s out of the gay bars and in the public, allowing many people to come out and meet new people.
What you may not know is that to have this event, it takes 365 days of year-round planning to deliver the festival, costing upwards of $500,000. That’s the equivalent of $1370.00 per day. Carnival Day alone costs over $150,000 to produce.
Costs for hosting Midsumma Festival include:
- * maintaining the office, utilities, insurance and contractors,
- * providing infrastructure to support & coordinate community-produced events and
- * producing iconic queer community events like Carnival Day.
Where does this money come from?
Less than 30% comes from government funding. The remaining
70+% is from a combination of:
- * Donations from people like you
- * Patrons and Members
- * Tax Deductible Donations
- * Goods and Services in kind
- * Registration and participation fees and ticket prices
- * Corporate sponsorship.
We need your donations. Please donate online, become a member or become a Patron.
