Dear [NAME],
Volunteer Induction - Sunday, 13 December @ 2pm
Thanks to the many volunteers who have already registered with us. Midsumma is a volunteer-fuelled organisation that simply couldn't operate without the passionate and committed contribution from individuals within our community.
On Sunday 13 December we will be holding the Midsumma Volunteer Induction at 2pm at the Kulin Room Rooftop, City Village, 225 Bourke Street, Melbourne. That will give us a chance to meet each other, and you will be given some background to Midsumma, briefed on how the festival is organised, given an explanation of the many roles for which we're looking for assistance and asked to sign up to specific roles if you haven't already done so. Early next week, all registered Volunteers will be sent a personal invitation to the induction session, but if you prefer you are also welcome to come along and register on the day, once you know more about us.
There are many different types of activities with which you can help out depending on your interests, skills and availability. The main areas in which we're looking for assistance are:
- Carnival on Sunday 17 Jan (box office, marshalls, kids zone, stages, info tent, roving info agents, setup/packup)
- Visual Arts Launches (bar staff, ushers, setup/packup)
- Pink Shorts (bar staff, ushers, production crew)
- Pride March on Sunday 7 Feb (marshalls, donation collectors, stages).
Shift times and durations vary greatly, so there's bound to be something suitable for you. If you're interested in volunteering with us, we ask you to first register via the Get Involved section of the Midsumma website. You will then be sent a confirmation email giving you access to our Volunteer Resources website where you will find lots more information. Activity Sign-up Sheets will be available on the Volunteer Resources website by this weekend, so that you can register your interest for specific shifts.
If you have any further queries, please email volunteers@midsumma.org.au or phone the Midsumma office on 03 9415 9819.

The project operates within a community cultural development framework where young people are involved in every aspect of the project, from membership on the steering committee to lighting design and operation, from acting to stage managing.
