Dear [NAME],
We hope that you have had a wonderful Christmas, and that 2010 will be a healthy and joyful year for you. Sadly though, this time of year can be fraught with difficulties for many people, and especially for those from our community. Sharon and Andrea from SheBar have made the following kind offer: "Many of us at this time of the year may be feeling a tad low. Both Andrea and I are here for you, so please feel free to pick up the phone and say hi (on 0419 992 966) as you are not alone......".
Note too that the Gay and Lesbian Switchboard is there to assist, 365 days a year, on 03 9663 2939 or 1800 184 527. Gay and Lesbian Switchboard is a volunteer organisation which provides a free and confidential telephone counselling, referral and information service for the Victorian and Tasmanian gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex (GLBTI) communities. Their phones are staffed by trained volunteers who themselves are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. The switchboard is open on Mon-Thu from 6pm to 10pm (on Wed from 2pm to 10pm) and on Fri-Mon from 6pm to 9pm.
