The 1st Asia Pacific Outgames, Melbourne 2008
The 1st Asia Pacific Outgames is a multi-sport tournament, a human rights conference and cultural event that embraces the Asia Pacific's gay and lesbian community and their friends.
The Outgames will take place in Melbourne, Australia, from 30 January – 3 February 2008. Under licence from GLISA Asia Pacific (Gay and Lesbian International Sport Association), the event will be held during the Midsumma Festival – Melbourne’s premier gay and lesbian cultural and arts festival and includes Pride March.
Sport tournaments at the 1st Asia Pacific Outgames will include: Badminton, Dancesport, Hockey, Lawn Bowls, Rowing, Run, Squash, Swimming, Ten Pin Bowling, Tennis, Volleyball and Water Polo.
The 1st Asia Pacific Outgames also features Rainbow Conversations, a two-day GLBTI human rights conference featuring the most remarkable and diverse group of activists, academics and community leaders ever gathered in Melbourne.

Outgames Opening Ceremony:
Melbourne Town Hall on Thursday 31 Jan. Athletes will assemble at the
City Square (opposite the Town Hall) at 6 pm. Spectators need to be

Outgames Closing Ceremony:
to be held in conjunction with Pride March in Fitzroy St, St Kilda on
Sunday 3 Feb. The 5 km foot race finalists will arrive in Fitzroy St
from 3 pm, to be followed by Pride March and the Outgames closing
