Thanks for your interest in Midsumma and your commitment to our volunteer program. Midsumma is a volunteer fueled organisation that simply couldn't operate without the passionate and committed contribution from individuals within our community. Each and every volunteer is an ambassador for Midsumma: enthusiastic, friendly, helpful and professional at all times.

Thanks to the 180+ volunteers who made Midsumma Festival 2013 not just possible, but also spectacular!

Midsumma is now looking for volunteers for the lead up to Festival 2014.

Midsumma Festival 2014 will run from 12 January (Carnival) to 2 February and it will be Midsumma's 26th Festival, so come join the party! Keep an eye on the Midsumma eNews and midsumma.org.au for announcements of intern positions and the 2014 call for volunteers!

If you would like to volunteer your time in the Midsumma office between Festival periods, we would love to hear from you! There is a lot that needs to get done before next January! If you have a certain skill or potion that you feel could be a useful addition to the Midsumma team, please do get in touch with us.

Volunteer Roles

Office Support (click to open)

Volunteers are sought to assist in the Midsumma office within working hours - basic computer skills are useful, but not mandatory for this. A great kickstart and industry insight for Arts and Event Management students!
 

Ticketing and Box Office

Midsumma is looking for two amazing ticketing interns for the 2014 Festival. If you are interested, please get in touch today! More information about these internships will be released in April.
 

Technical / Production Assistance

To help co-ordinate and run events. Midsumma will be seeking two switched on secondments for Dec 2013 - Jan 2014. More information will be available in April, so keep your eyes and ears alert for annoucements!
 

Team Leaders

Mature, responsible volunteers are needed to co-ordinate the many different teams of volunteers.
 

Information Services

At some events, particularly Carnival, volunteers are needed to provide information to the public. However, all volunteers will be called upon by the public to answer queries - we will do our utmost to empower you to be able to answer, or appropriately redirect, such queries.
 

Carnival and T Dance

This combined event is our largest, requiring the help of many volunteers.

Bar and Hospitality

Midsumma operates bars at Carnival, T Dance, Visual arts launches and many other events. If you have a Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA) certificate, you will be of great assistance to us.
 

Special Activities

There will periodically be ad-hoc needs for volunteers, for example to assist with mailout and packaging activities.
 

Other

Please rest assured that if you have a particular skill that isn't mentioned above, you can almost certainly be of assistance to us! On the other hand, if you think that you don't possess any relevant skills, you're probably grossly underestimating just how useful you can be.

Volunteer Agreement
