Arts
Victoria is the Government body charged with advising on and
implementing arts policy, developing the arts and cultural industries
across the State and ensuring access for all Victorians.
Arts Victoria supports the arts and cultural industries to encourage
excellence, develop good ideas, build audiences, encourage

targeted programs devised by research and in response to community
need.
Arts Victoria supports arts and cultural development in every part
of our community, valuing diversity and Indigenous culture, regional
growth and international opportunities.
The City of Port Phillip is located within the south east inner region of Melbourne, and plays an important role and function in contributing to both the capital city and wider regional role of Melbourne with its diverse but integrated mix of residential neighbourhoods, urban centres, industry, business, tourist and leisure attractions that offer a huge variety of amenity, interest and choice.
The
City of Yarra is an inner metropolitan municipality which is home to a
diverse community of 69,000 people. Yarra is one of Australia's
smallest inner city municipalities at 19.5 kilometres, and features
lively arts and entertainment precincts, vibrant shopping and café

The City of Yarra plays a vital role in creating an environment in
which arts and cultural activity continue to flourish. The Arts and
Cultural Services Unit's mission is to work with communities, artists,
organizations, business and government to achieve community well-being,
economic strength and cultural vitality within Yarra, through involving
local people, investing in local practice and supporting a shared sense
of place. The offices of Midsumma Festival are located within the City of Yarra at the picturesque Abbotsford Convent.

For 22 years, Midsumma has championed Diversity and Inclusion through
the celebration of Victoria's GLBT Community, and IBM was proud to be a
part of the Festival's 21st year celebration by once again sponsoring
the 2009 Volunteers Program. IBM is an environment that welcomes and
embraces individual differences and where diversity is a cornerstone of
the organisation's heritage and values. Today, for many organisations,
diversity is a no-brainer - it's the fuel of creativity and innovation,
the key to attracting, retaining and motivating talented people, and is
a criticial differentiator in today's business and workplace
environment.
