How do the Private Lawn Decks, Stalls Tables and Balcony seats work?
Your booking reserves a designated area in the Sidney Myer Music Bowl and must be booked in a single transaction. There are three ticket categories for Live at the Bowl:
- Private decks are available for groups of up to four and six guests.
- Stalls tables are available for groups of up to two and four guests.
- Balcony seats are available for one to two guests.

What is the difference between Terrace Decks and Lawn Decks?
Terrace decks are closer to the stage but can only accommodate 4 guests, while the Lawn Decks can accommodate 6 guests.
Does my ticket come with a seat?
All areas feature one chair per guest, this includes the balcony, tables and decks
Can I reserve single tickets?
No, there are no single tickets available, so please be considerate in your booking, if you book a space larger than you need, you may be depriving other people of the chance to see the event live.
What’s the Maximum tickets I can book?
You can only book one designated space so for a group of two, four or six. If you are trying to book more than one space, you will get an error message.
Can you no longer attend and need to return your tickets?
If you can no longer attend this event, please return your tickets using the 'refund' form on the Ticketek website here.
Will my designated area be distanced from the other guests?
Yes. All private decks, stalls tables, and balcony seats are a minimum of 1.5 metres apart from other groups.
Can I choose where my designated area is?
Yes, during booking there is a map on the left-hand side of the stage that is colour coded with each section. You can select areas that are available. The Balcony section is the only section you can’t choose exactly where you are seated.
Can I leave and enter again on the same Ticket?
Due to safety restrictions, we are unable to provide pass outs. You will be unable to re-enter once you have left the venue.
Can I move around the venue?
You will be able to move around the venue to collect food/drink or use the restrooms. Please keep 1.5 metres away from any other attendees.
We encourage you to arrive early and reduce the number of items you bring into the venue. It is a condition of entry that all patrons comply with an ID check and search of bags or belongings if requested before entering the venue. Prohibited items will not be allowed inside the venue.
For the protection and safety of all patrons, the Sidney Myer Music Bowl is under 24-hour camera surveillance which will continue during the event. Arts Centre Melbourne reserves the right to refuse or revoke entry for any behaviour or activity that is illegal, poses a safety risk or impacts upon other patrons’ ability to enjoy the event.
The Sidney Myer Music Bowl is an outdoor venue however as a licensed venue a minimum dress code applies. Shirts and shoes are required at all times.
Due to COVIDSafe practices, there is no cloakroom at Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
Sidney Myer Music Bowl is a smoke-free venue. Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not permitted within the venue. If you wish to smoke please proceed to the designated smoking area on the side hills.
Wet weather, Umbrellas and ponchos
Live at the Bowl events will go ahead rain, hail or shine. The Sidney Myer Music Bowl is an outdoor amphitheatre. If rain or bad weather occurs, the show will proceed unless it's deemed unsafe to do so.
Umbrellas are allowed into the main lawn area but are required to be closed during the performance so as not to obstruct the view of those behind you. Ponchos will be available for purchase from all bars.
You are welcome to sit, stand or dance within your designated area. For your safety and the safety of others, please remain within your area and maintain a distance of 1.5m from other groups.
For those on stalls tables, please dance in the area behind your tables. For those on private lawn deck, please remain on your deck and do not sit, stand or swing on the rails. Dancing on the lawn itself, or at another deck or table, is not permitted.

EAT & DRINK
Is there food and drink available at Live at the Bowl events?
Yes. Food trucks will be onsite for each event and orders can be placed via the QR code in your designated area. Picnic hampers are also available to pre-order when purchasing tickets.
Bars will be open for most events, serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
The Sidney Myer Music Bowl is a cashless venue. Accepting Visa, MasterCard and American Express payments.
There is a free water bottle refill station located near the food trucks. Due to safety protocols, water fountains are not available.
Can I bring my own food and drink to a Live at the Bowl event?
You are welcome to bring food into Live at the Bowl. However, please note that you cannot bring:
- Hard-sided containers or eskies
- Large knives
COVID SAFETY & WELLBEING
What Precautions are in place for me when I visit?
A range of safety and hygiene measures are in place to ensure your safety and wellbeing.
The capacity of Sidney Myer Music Bowl has been reduced to 25%. A maximum of 3,000 guests can attend any one Live at the Bowl event. All guests must adhere to the most current health advice from the Victorian Government.
Regularly cleaning and sanitising of the venue and publicly accessible areas with approved disinfectant products throughout the day.
Physical distancing and signage
You must stay in your designated area for the duration of your event, except to collect food and drinks or use the facilities.
It is vital to stay at least 1.5 metres from others when moving around the venue.
Signage around the venue will help you maintain physical distancing, including in high traffic areas where queues may form.
Entries and exits will be one-way only and marked with signage.
Hand sanitisers are available upon entry and stationed around the venue.
Hand wash will be regularly restocked in all bathrooms.
Sidney Myer Music Bowl is a cashless venue. All points of payment in all areas accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express payments.
In line with current advice from the Victorian Government, you must carry a mask with you at all times.
Masks must be worn when visiting the toilets and when in spaces where physical distancing is not possible.
You are not required to wear a mask in your designated area.
QR code registration via a mobile phone is required for all guests on arrival.
For patrons who do not have a smartphone, or whose mobile device is not QR code compatible, we have iPads on site that allow customers to register their details for contact tracing.
