Your most epic boyband dance battle fantasies are coming to life this Midsumma

The Boi Band Battle Royale is part of Midsumma X Ignite Melbourne program.

Have you ever fantasised about NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys randomly showing up in Melbourne and having a dance off? Well your fantasy is about to become a reality! Melbourne insta-viral lockdown darlings the Brunswick East Entertainment Festival (BEEF) are back with a brand new all ages public activation meets dance party - Boi Band Battle Royale.

BEEF’s iconic drag king boy bands - Front St Bois and OuttaSYNC - will be popping up all over Melbourne CBD to dance-battle it out for the title of Supreme Boy Band.

Like the Sharks and the Jets, but set to a playlist of 90s bangers, dressed in baggy jeans, basketball gear, and sideways caps, these heart throbs are instantly recognisable: beloved and hilarious, oscillating between total babe and utter fool.

BBBR features a rotating cast of Melbourne’s premier drag, comedy and dance performers.

Fun and light-hearted BBBR will appeal to Melbournians of all ages and backgrounds.

The performance can be enjoyed in a variety of ways: from casual observation at a distance, to fully fledged participation.

BEEF is a Melbourne based queer feminist physical theatre company making participatory, site responsive work for incidental audiences.
