HELLO TITTY

The official launch of a new poetic volume

"BREATHING ON SKIN. GOOSEBUMPS. BACK BONES." - HELLO TITTY

Poetry celebrating the female gaze. No longer will this be ignored. Our desires, strength, and power is ours to own. By artist Martha Ackroyd Curtis, her poetic license is ready to slay.

A collection of poetry and visuals for womenkind by Martha Ackroyd Curtis. The photographs chosen for this volume are selected based on delicacy, a little bit of smut, power and an extra strong dosage of humour. Curtis's poetry is simple and powerful, with a delightful appeal to the intellect through its use of imagery and metaphors to explore such things as ageing, true love, self esteem, everyday life and the erotic and transformative power of sex.

An acclaimed visual artist specialising in installation art, the book’s inventive imagery fires the mind and the senses in fresh and unexpected ways. Elegant and concise yet expansive in its effect, dealing with the joys and concerns of contemporary lesbian life, these poems are a welcome addition to the queer literary scene.

Ackroyd Curtis is bringing her first published volume of poetry and visuals to Midsumma 2021. Readings, discussion and book signing.

Please arrive at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

"With this publication I am wanting to take things from our point of view as women but I feel many people can relate to these poems. I have placed visuals within the pages as well to create a passage with the writing; seriousness + hilarity. I want people to feel a sweaty pulse running through these words."
