Let’s get saucy!

Ciao famiglia,

It’s La Nonna, and I need all you beautiful children and grandchildren to come join me for the biggest, queerest, sauciest day of the year - our tomato sauce day!

For those who don’t remember (because you don’t visit Nonna enough!), our ‘sauce day’ is the tradition of our ancestors. It’s the annual ritual of chopping, crushing and bottling the summer's juiciest, most beautiful tomatoes - and I need your help!

But it’s not all hard work. Nonna has invited some old friends and some very special guests to make sure you all have a beautiful time, and come back next year! I’ve got some Italian folk music, traditional dances, food to feed the whole famiglia, and rivers of spritz.

Come share stories with old amici (friends), cugini (cousins), zie (aunties) and bambini (kids), you might even meet some bei ragazzi eh? Bring all la famiglia, because it’s an intergenerational festa, where everyone is welcome, and Nonna is the DJ!

I’m hosting the summer’s most beautiful celebration when the tomatoes are their best and ripest. What more could you want, eh?! Drop by for a bite and a drink, or stay a few hours. It will be a bellissima summer festa to remember! An afternoon of sauce, summer and community celebration. I can’t wait to see you at the beautiful new La Mama Theatre, so make sure you RSVP so I know how many tomatoes to bring. Imma buy wholesale!

Con amore e un bacione (big kiss),

La Nonna xx
