Melanated in Melbourne chronicles the lives of co-hosts Nicole and Ri’chard, two Black Americans living in Australia, as they navigate what it means to be a person of colour in the great down under. A delightful mix of insight and humour, the podcast explores working abroad, Australian lingo, racism, culture shock, identity, heartbreak and more. Melanated in Melbourne intentionally amplifies the voices of historically disenfranchised individuals by primarily having LGBTIQA+ people of color, both local and international, come on the show to share their unique stories, with guests ranging from psychologists to drag queens.

To commemorate the launch of the third season of their show, the Melanated in Melbourne team are planning to host a live podcast during Black History Month and Midsumma. This event is intended to showcase the diverse talents of some of the guests they’ve had on the show, engage with current listeners and broaden the podcast’s reach to share their intersectional stories with the broader Victorian community.
