Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Dir: John Cameron Mitchell, USA, 2001, 95 mins, MA 15+
Renowned as one of the most unique musicals of all time, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, is a cult-classic that needs to be experienced on the big screen. See writer, director and star, John Cameron Mitchell (Shortbus, Rabbit Hole) in their iconic role as the gender-queer, diva herself.
Hailing from East Berlin, glam-rocker Hedwig tours America with her backing band, The Angry Inch, as they track down her former lover and bandmate, played by Michael Pitt (Ghost in the Shell, Last Days, Murder by Numbers). Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of the "internationally ignored" rock singer and her search for stardom and love.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch is a musical spectacle of cinematic delights not to be missed.
Note: Hedwig and the Angry Inch screens at the same time as The Inspection.
