Performing the Monster

An assortment pack of luminous queer monstrosities
This playful and insightful themed variety show about queerly courting monsters is to Maude Davey a chance to investigate her own life and response to queer cultural performance over more than three decades.
An acclaimed director, performer, teacher and actor of stage and screen, Maude Davey is also the artistic director of the Generation festival of actions and ideas for Harehole Melbourne. In this wide-ranging exploration of the queer gothic imagination, Maude Davey asks four special guests to perform work in relation to the theme of the monster and discuss its relationship to queer identities and queer culture.
This variety box of hand-crafted monstrosities celebrates the way queers embrace and reconfigure the darkest places of the imagination. Guests to be announced soon.
