Stepping Out With Pride

Step out, stand out, make your mark!
Shoes weren’t meant to be boring, and neither are you. Bring a pair of old shoes back to life at this creative workshop led by artist and costume designer Anna Kolusnewski from Aa is for Art. Connect with your community, experiment with airbrush techniques, stencils, glitter, paint pens and 3D paint while you transform your shoes from drab to fab!
Showcase your identity and your pride through colour, accessories and creativity. The only limit is your imagination! Shine a spotlight on your pride by designing a unique shoe featuring rainbows, flags, pronouns, symbols, words, images or anything else you can dream up.
Whether you're marching, partying at Carnival, wearing it purple, showing your pride at work, or being a supportive ally, these shoes will be with you every step of your journey.
BYO shoes. Canvas or cloth recommended, but not compulsory. All other materials provided, including rainbow shoelaces. Wear comfortable clothes and prepare to wear some art home!
Strictly for young people aged 12 to 25.
