Sunday at the Baths: Queer Soirée
An inclusive evening of music by the pool
Everyone’s invited to join us at Midsumma Festival’s very best pool party. Following a hugely successful inaugural event in 2019, Carlton Baths is once again opening its doors to Melbourne’s Queer community for a night of live music by the pool to conclude Midsumma Festival.
Leading the 2020 line up so far is Shulah the Sheilah and Memphis LK. Having spent the last three years of her life on an intense personal moratorium, Shulah the Sheilah has found her purpose and that’s to fill your ears with some goody goody tunes. Come for a splash, enjoy a blend of everything that sounds good and get ya tushy moving. Memphis LK was raised on strong female figures – soul legends, 90s r&b queens and pop superstars before she fell in sync with electronic music six years ago. Memphis will immerse us all in her signature blend of atmospheric club music and purposeful lyrics. The full line-up will be announced soon on Carlton Baths’ social media.
An array of community organizations will be in attendance with Transgender Victoria hosting a quiet space and sharing information about their work with the community. Inclusive social sports will also have their time in the spotlight, with Bushrangers Basketball hosting a basketball game in the stadium. Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with Carlton Baths’ highly knowledgeable Fitness Professionals to learn about the programs and services on offer and enjoy a swim in the beautiful 25m outdoor pool.
