Starting as a swamp, Melbourne's grandest boulevard has developed into a key commercial and entertainment area plus having varied installations recognising exceptional events and people. The walk explores major St Kilda Road features, with background stories, from Federation Square to Toorak Road. Gay people and gay life are a part of this evolution and history.
The walk concludes at Gate "D" Botanical Gardens. Dress for warm weather, with sunscreen, sunhat and closed footwear. BYO water (refills available), snacks plus lunch.
