What is Midsumma Festival?
About Midsumma
Midsumma is Australia's premier LGBTQIA+ arts and cultural organisation, celebrating diverse gender identities, sexualities, bodies and experiences through a vibrant year-round program of artistic, cultural and community initiatives, culminating each summer in the annual Midsumma Festival.
Established in 1988, Midsumma works year-round to champion LGBTQIA+ artists, foster community connection and create opportunities for diverse voices to be seen and celebrated. Each summer, the Midsumma Festival presents more than 200 events across Melbourne and regional Victoria, welcoming over 300,000 attendees and showcasing one of the world's largest LGBTQIA+ arts and cultural festivals.
