These Midsumma Hub venues are dedicated to providing you with a diverse showcase of events, across the 22-day festival, to enrich your Midsumma Festival experience. Never miss a beat, with Midsumma Hubs there is something to see or do every day or night of the week.

Theatre Works

14 Acland St, St Kilda

In 2024, Theatre Works’ Midsumma Hub will be buzzing with 8 ground-breaking shows across 2 performance spaces. A truly queer program that embraces and celebrates the whole rainbow community. This year’s highly anticipated line-up features artists from across the country with massive theatrical works, musical comedies, cutting edge writers and experimental works that will have your heart racing.

Victorian Pride Centre

79-81 Fitzroy St, St Kilda

The Victorian Pride Centre is excited to host a big, bold and beautiful program of Midsumma events that connect, support and amplify LGBTIQ+ voices! With everything from creative workshops and inspiring talks to vibrant markets and spin classes on the roof, our line-up reflects the rich diversity of Victoria's LGBTIQ+ communities in this purpose-built hub.

Gasworks Arts Park

21 Graham St, Albert Park

Gasworks Arts Park has been the south side hub for Midsumma Festival and a summer destination for high quality theatre, provocative art and fun nights out with friends for over a decade. Midsumma at Gasworks in 2024 will see a diverse and inclusive program spanning circus, cabaret, drama, comedy, writing and visual art. Support independent artists as they bring the theatres, parklands and gallery spaces to life, and enjoy a drink on the outdoor terrace nestled in the beautiful park.

Abbotsford Convent

1 St Heliers St, Abbotsford

Just four kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, and spread over 16 acres, Abbotsford Convent is Australia’s largest multi-arts and cultural precinct: a living place for curiosity and collaboration, meeting and meaning. We work collaboratively with a community of artists and arts organisations across all art forms to present a year-round program of contemporary work that engages, surprises and delights audiences, encourages investigation and learning, and sparks important new conversations.

This year, we invite you to join us on a creative journey with a joyful array of artists sharing their incredible work.

The Butterfly Club

Carson Place, off Little Collins St (between Swanston & Elizabeth) in the Melbourne CBD

The Butterfly Club is a small theatre in the heart of Melbourne. We have plenty of shows, award-winning foyer bars, and an enormous collection of kitsch.

The Motley Bauhaus

118 Elgin St, Carlton

The Motley Bauhaus is a newly renovated, proudly independent and inclusive multi-disciplinary arts space located just a stone’s throw from the CBD on Elgin Street, Carlton. With a focus on the weird, wonderful and Motley, this stunning large venue has two performance spaces and a visual arts gallery that are jammed packed with innovative queer art this Midsumma Festival. Wander into this charming timber and brass finished modern bar for delicious cocktails, gluten free tap beer, conversation starting boardgames, and most importantly - art you can't find anywhere else.

Midsumma Westside

Melbourne’s western region Councils

Midsumma Westside is a collaboration of Melbourne’s western region Councils in partnership with Midsumma. It is a sumptuous slice of Midsumma Festival that programs the wonderful array of events taking place in the west. With exhibitions, drag, live music, performances, circus, pool parties, picnics and walks, the west is set to come alive. Midsumma Westside invites you to GO WEST this summer!

Chapel Off Chapel

12 Little Chapel St, Prahran

Chapel Off Chapel, in the heart of Prahran, is your Intimate, Live and Iconic Midsumma hotspot, offering a dazzling array of shows to tickle everyone’s fancy! The Chapel stage will see Ziegfeld Boy in 'Bombshell,' paying homage to Hollywood blondes - both cheeky and glitzy. Tash York's hilarious new comedy cabaret 'Love That For You', Dolly Diamond's 20-year celebration 'Hot Summer Roast'. Our own Queen of the Universe star, Trevor Ashley in 'The (first annual) Farewell Show'. The Local Lesbians return with candid tales of lady love in 'Lesbian Love Stories’, and don't miss 'Torch Song,' an iconic play that delves into LGBTQIA+ acceptance. Get ready for a whirlwind of Midsumma entertainment at Chapel Off Chapel.
