Party late into the night as the Library transforms into your after-dark playground

Step into a night of queer creativity, music and magic as Midsumma Festival takes over State Library Victoria. 

Library Up Late returns for Midsumma, transforming into your after-dark playground dedicated to the act of artistic creation. Gain exclusive after-hours access to our latest exhibition Creative Acts and dance under the iconic Dome with electro-pop duo Stereogamous (Paul Mac and Jonny Seymour). Witness Ian Potter Queen’s Hall transform with electrifying cabaret performances curated by drag artist Jandruze, featuring performances by Aysha Buffet, Bendy Ben, Craig Crystie, Hannie Helsden, The Huxleys, Kitty Obsidian, Lazy Susan, Milo Hartill, Simone Page Jones, Stone Motherless Cold and Winter Greene. 

Then stay for Jandruze’s unmistakable magic on the decks afterwards. Learn your fate with a tarot reading from Lady Bijou and her fellow Cartomancers. What will the cards reveal?  

In between performances, explore roving installations and connect with artists reimagining creativity as joy, ritual and resistance. It’s part party, part performance and all pride.
