Fluid - Celebrating Queer Artists
Image: by Colin Mowbray
Fluid is a dynamic group exhibition showcasing the work of queer artists across painting, photography and sculpture. Presented as part of Midsumma Festival, the exhibition brings together diverse creative voices that explore identity, desire, transformation and joy.
Running from Friday 30 January to Sunday 8 February, Fluid will take place at the Fitzroy Public Gallery—just steps away from the heart of the annual Victoria's Pride Street Party on Smith Street. Visitors are invited to step in from the street and experience a fresh perspective on queer expression through bold visuals, intimate moments and playful forms.
In the spirit of community and inclusion, Fluid is currently seeking queer artists to take part in the exhibition. If you're a queer-identifying artist working in painting, photography or sculpture and want to be involved, we’d love to hear from you.
Curated to reflect the richness and complexity of queer experience, Fluid honours both the fluidity of gender and sexuality, and the ever-shifting nature of art itself. Each artist contributes a unique lens, sparking conversation, reflection and celebration.
Join us for the official opening night on Friday 30 January from 6–9pm for a first look and a drink among friends and community.
Whether you’re dancing in the streets or drifting through the gallery, Fluid invites you to immerse yourself in something bright, brave and beautifully queer.
Closing party is on Sunday 8 February at 2–5pm.
