NGV x Midsumma
Art is a powerful medium to talk about the world and in 2023, Midsumma and NGV come together again to co-present a series of community-centred programs drawing on art and design at the NGV to explore a rich array of stories and experiences for all ages through tours, conversations and workshops.
Queer collection tours, presented by NGV curators and leading community voices, will explore the queer stories held by works on display throughout the galleries in the NGV’s International and Australia buildings. These tours will be complemented by programs presented in conjunction with the NGV’s major summer exhibition, Alexander McQueen: Mind, Mythos, Muse, including a panel discussion dedicated to McQueen's inherently queer approach to fashion design.
