Stories, songs and a bit of sparkle!
Do you love stories, songs and a bit of sparkle? To celebrate the upcoming Midsumma Festival, we’re adding a splash of rainbow flair to our beloved Storytime sessions.
Join us in late January as LGBTQIA+ storytellers share their favourite tales, sing some rainbow-themed songs and rhymes, and celebrate diversity, inclusion and joy.
The special guests who will be taking over our Storytime sessions include:
- Cabaret comedian and community darling Frock Hudson on Tuesday 20 January, 1.30-2.00pm
- Disability activist and author Jax Brown on Tuesday 27 January, 1.30-2.00pm
Perfect for kids aged 3-8.
Book your tickets now.
Presented by Midsumma Festival and State Library Victoria, supported by Rainbow Families Switchboard
About Frock Hudson
Frock Hudson is fabulous, furry and a whole heap of fun. The queerer alter ego of cabaret comedian and community darling, Dean Arcuri (he/him), Frock has been bringing colour and campness to LGBTQIA+ festivals and events all around the country. Frock is proudly an ambassador for the Out in the Open Festival and Chillout Festival.
About Jax Brown
Jax Brown (he/they) is an esteemed disability and LGBTQIA+ rights activist, writer and educator. He is proudly disabled and proudly trans and is the tired parent of 2 young children. When not being earnest about social change he can be found reading memoirs and picture books, doing daggy craft and wearing a sprinkling of rainbow at all times.
