Be Photographed for Body Language
Image: by Vicki Jones (after Claude Cahun)
All welcome! Get in touch to share your gender identity story.
‘Body Language’ is a LGBTIQA+ community photography project. Collaboration is the key, you are invited to share your story, your experience of gender, and to contribute an accompanying statement about how you identify. The floor is yours! You are invited to be photographed as you, but if your loved one or friends are important in your story, please include them.
Inspired by the gay studio photographers of the 1930's/1940's with studio lights and large format camera's, Big Eye Studios will be styled in the fashion of the day from New York to Paris to London. The photography is by Vicki Jones as a Master of Arts (Photography) project at Photography Studies College. Please contact Vicki for more information - [email protected], and book in for your one hour photoshoot.
Gender has become such a complex issue, let’s tell our stories so we can humanise the discourse and create greater understanding. Let’s celebrate who we are as individuals and as a community.
Have a think about what you’d like to do and we will have a chat on the phone, or by email, before the shoot so together we can choreograph your images, and prepare for your studio time.
The photography will be at Big Eye Studios in North Fitzroy which is a safe place for LGBTIQA+ people. The studio has wheelchair access. If anyone needs assistance or an Uber getting to North Fitzroy, please reach out. Participants will be asked to sign a model release form at a later stage and will receive the images, so you can select your favourites. Thank you!
Thank you for your time to be involved in this project. I appreciate your participation! Happy Midsumma!
