Queer Reckoning

Queer Reckoning presents performance and visual artwork by leading Naarm based artists, working at the intersections of queerness, identity and form.
On Gasworks’ Screen – a new dedicated space for moving image work – experience Xanthe Dobbie’s Eidolon. Eidolon is a fanatical ode to the image - a myth built on fragmented histories. Interested in harnessing liveness in recorded materials, Eidolon is a single-take performance, originally commissioned for the Sydney Opera House.
TALK: Saturday 31 January 4pm
When law meets love: Paul Kidd and Danish Sheikh on activism, storytelling, and queer survival
Join activist-lawyer and playwright Danish Sheikh in conversation with lawyer and advocate Paul Kidd, as they explore how queer lives have both been shaped by the law and reshaped it in turn - through activism, storytelling, and the pursuit of justice.
PERFORMANCE: Saturday 31 January 6pm
Performance by Scotty So
Join us for a performance by Naarm-based artist Scotty So. Driven by the thrill of camp, he explores the often-contradictory relationship between humour and sincerity.
