When law meets love: Paul Kidd and Danish Sheikh on activism, storytelling, and queer survival
Image: by Tom Noble
Join activist-lawyer and playwright Danish Sheikh in conversation with lawyer and advocate Paul Kidd, as they explore how queer lives have both been shaped by the law and reshaped in turn - through activism, storytelling, and the pursuit of justice.
This conversation coincides with 'Much to do with law, but more to do with love' by Danish Sheikh - a theatre work developed through the Queer Playwriting Award (presented by Midsumma and Gasworks) and showing at Gasworks from 4-7 February.
In this award-winning lecture performance, Danish Sheikh returns to the courtroom that broke his heart, and the play that healed it. He asks: what's the point of loving the law when the law won't love you back?
