5th Annual Roller Derby Pride Cup

Gippsland Ranges Roller Derby: Five years fierce: Derby, Pride, and pure joy.

Experience fierce, full-contact action, junior showcases, and community vibes that champion LGBTQIA+ inclusion and visibility. Celebrate bold hits, skill, and unstoppable energy on wheels. Take part in a colourful photoshoot, crown yourself with a flower crown, and soak up the circus-inspired festival atmosphere.

Gippsland Ranges Roller Derby is thrilled to be hosting our 5th Annual Pride Cup – five years strong celebrating LGBTQIA+ inclusion, visibility and joy through the fierce, full-contact fun of roller derby.

From our very first Pride Cup in June 2019 – the first of its kind in Australian roller derby – we’ve been committed to creating space for joy, gender diversity and fierce community spirit on wheels. In 2025, we’re proud to keep that momentum rolling!

This year, we’re once again teaming up with the Gippsland Pride Initiative and key LGBTQIA+ community services to bring you an unforgettable night of action, celebration and connection.

What’s On?

• Double-header derby with the return of Juniors for their second year – showcasing the incredible skills of our up and coming members.
• Low and modified contact scrims - Because derby is beautiful no matter the level.
• Our feature bout: GRRD vs. The Gender Ending Story – it’s gonna be loud, proud and full of hits!
• Community festival vibe: stalls, connection spaces, pride merch, food and all-round good vibes.
• This event is more than just a game – it’s a celebration of who we are, who we skate with, and what makes our roller derby community so special. We’re beyond stoked to host this event right here, in the heart of Gippsland – our home.

Roller Derby Bout Schedule

• 8am - Doors open
• 9am - Junior Low contact.
• 10am - Junior Modified contact.
• 11am - Adult Modified contact.
• 1pm - Formalities.
• 2pm - Exhibition bout.
• 4pm - Presentations.

Additional Event Information

• This is an inclusive, friendly & respectful event.
• All of the roller derby action will be livestreamed via Facebook.
• Merch and info stalls will be set up and ready to meet everybody.
• Kids activities will be available for the young (and young at heart).
• Bring cash along for the yummy bake sale and fabulous raffle.
• BYO chair - and don't forget to rug up with layers!
• Game Day signs for players are encouraged - get creative.
• Food options will be available from Warragul Leisure Centre.
• Allow time for parking and finding your perfect spectator spot.
