Culture, Creativity & Colour - Rainbow Mob Style!
Creative Healing is a free, culturally safe creative arts event for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTQIA+SB (Rainbow Mob) community members, held at Burraja Cultural Centre in Wodonga, Victoria.
The event provides a welcoming and inclusive space for Rainbow Mob to come together, celebrate identity and culture, build connections and express themselves through creativity. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in a range of hands-on creative activities, including painting, drawing, collage and identity artwork.
The event will also include yarning and storytelling opportunities, allowing participants to share experiences, strengthen relationships and connect with other Rainbow Mob community members in a culturally safe environment. We will also have a feed and will provide an opportunity for informal connection, conversation and celebration.
Creative Healing will be supported by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Rainbow Mob facilitators and artists, ensuring the event is community-led and responsive to the experiences and needs of participants. The event will promote self-expression, cultural pride, confidence, social connection and a strong sense of belonging.
A key outcome will be the creation of individual and collaborative artworks that celebrate Rainbow Mob identities and stories. With participant consent, selected artworks and photographs may be displayed as part of a community showcase and future VACCA Rainbow Mob activities.
Creative Healing aims to create a positive and memorable experience where Rainbow Mob can create, connect, celebrate and be proud of who they are.
