Over the years, Midsumma has built up an impressive collection of podcasts and videos, highlighting some talented artists in our communities, and capturing important oral histories that would otherwise probably have been forgotten.

PRIDEFINDER PODCASTS

Many years ago, Helene Thomas had a dream to create her own "pop-up radio studio". Eventually the dream became a vision of a caravan studio: a lightweight, well insulated, strong, warm, eye-catching mobile studio having excellent acoustic properties that we now know as The Wayfinder. With funding from the Victorian State Government, in January 2023 Helene started touring Victoria as part of the Victoria's Pride project, to record a total of 45 podcasts across Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Kyneton, Morwell, Sale, Warragul, Wangaratta, Shepparton and Fitzroy.

The project is continuing in 2025, with new episodes being released each Friday.

QRAVE: THE PODCAST

Throughout 2024, journalist, artiste and storyteller Jessi Ryan engaged in research centred upon identifying queer histories from the City Of Yarra. QRAVE was part of Midsumma 2025 and the QRAVE interviews took place across 2024 with the support of Australian Queer Archives and City of Yarra.

QRAVE: The Podcast presents these eight histories, from the early days of Gay Liberation in the 1970s to the many ways tragedy struck amid Melbourne lockdowns.

QUEERANTINE PODCASTS AND VIDEOS

In April 2020, during the first COVID lockdown, Midsumma requested EOIs to create new pieces of art for our communities to engage through Midsumma’s online channels. Ten artistic projects were selected, and each awarded a cash prize of $1,000. Those with podcast or video content were:
