Support The Round to support local LGBTQIA+ artists

Two performing arts groups will use the Round's Residency during Midsumma Festival to develop a work with a public showing in our Studio Theatre. Come along to see a fabulous new work, or better still, come along on Friday to see both!

Out Of The Wings: Carrie: The Musical - ** 7pm SESSION CANCELLED

Based on Stephen King’s 1974 horror novel, ‘Carrie: The Musical’ is proudly presented by Out of the Wings Theatre in April 2024. You are invited to the exclusive sneak peek style cabaret, presented by Midsumma, that entails all the behind the scenes work that goes into producing theatre made by young queer artists. This cabaret features songs from ‘Carrie’ and a live performance discussing the audition, rehearsal and creative process behind queer voices putting on a queer production.

Piera Dennersteins - Pursuing Pleasure: The importance of doing what feels good (cabaret)

Opera singer turned curvaceous cabaret cantatrice Piera Dennerstein (Finucane & Smith, ‘Blue is the Colour’ Midsumma 2022) shares the intimate truths of her body and mind in this sexy, silly and deeply human debut solo show. Using the exceptional versatility of her voice in everything from Puccini to Cardi B, in ‘Pursuing Pleasure’ Piera explores how leaning into the pleasurable is a powerful political act. Presented by Whitehorse City Council and The Round Midsumma Residency Program
