Queer experimental performance by Zoë Bastin
Waves Are Disturbances; you only see them when they break. Dive into the depths where we explore the delicate balance between control and consent, using the vast ocean as a metaphorical canvas to examine how our bodies navigate forces that extend beyond our individual existence. Through evocative movement, visually arresting imagery, and a thought-provoking soundscape, we unravel the intricate dynamics of power and agency within the queer experience.
Through rigorous athletic movement accompanied by live musicians, we invite our audience to embark on a profound emotional and introspective journey. Just as waves symbolise the interconnected forces behind political action, our dancers embody the nuances of negotiating power imbalances - imagine rising against the tide or creating a groundswell. Ultimately, we convey a message of collective action, empowerment, self-discovery, and the paramount importance of consent, both in intimate relationships and society.
