Program Objectives

The Regional Activation Program is an initiative that supports projects by community groups, artists and organisations who help protect and enhance the lives of regionally located LGBTQIA+ individuals through the expression of arts, events and cultural activities that celebrate Victoria's diverse LGBTQIA+ Pride in a state-wide way.

Projects funded through the program must align with one or more of the following program objectives:

  • To enable events, exhibitions or historical collections that celebrate or commemorate past or present LGBTQIA+ moments and/or community sacrifices, challenges and achievements. This may also include projections or acknowledgement of pathways yet to be travelled.
  • To enable LGBTQIA+ community organisations and artists within regional Victoria to participate in and feel connected to Midsumma celebrations and in particular can show how they link in with state-wide celebrations of Victoria's Pride Event on 12 February that includes a street party in Melbourne.
  • Focused on the inclusion of diverse LGBTQIA+ individuals and communities across culture and generations.
