Be among the first to see the Victorian Premiere of The Inspection, starring Jeremy Pope (Pose, Hollywood) and Gabrielle Union (Bring It On, 10 Things I Hate About You). Inspired by director Elegance Bratton’s real-life experience, The Inspection is a deeply affecting story bolstered by a powerful performance from lead actor, Jeremy Pope - earning him a Best Actor nomination at this year’s Golden Globe Awards.
Deserted by his mother, Ellis French is a young, gay man and headed for life in jail, when he decides to change everything by joining the US Marines. Ellis faces a tumultuous journey through boot camp, dealing with militant homophobia combined with sexually charged masculinity. Ellis’s training also finds unexpected friendship, strength, and a new community.
Please note: this film will screen concurrently with Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
