Join us at the Substation for a panel discussion with Archer Magazine’s founder and images team.
Archer Magazine is the world's most inclusive publication about sex and gender.
Founded in 2013 by journalist Amy Middleton, the multi-award-winning magazine is now sold in 11 countries, and the website has amassed more than 3 million views since launching.
This digital and print publication curates first-person narratives about sexuality, gender and identity from diverse and intersectional LGBTIQA+ perspectives often left out of mainstream media. Amy is a Melbourne-based journalist and founder of Archer Magazine.
Amy has written and edited for Australian Geographic, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, The Big Issue, Junkee, Meanjin, The Lifted Brow and more. In her spare time, she plays Aussie Rules football and collects interesting editions of Alice in Wonderland.
Alexis (Queer PHOTO - Photography Panel: Navigating a Male-dominated industry) is a photographer, creative director, studio founder and image + design curator. Her work focuses on exploring and celebrating gender identity, sexuality, sensuality and expression through movement and character.
With a passion for shared storytelling and connected collaboration she launched Cat Scratch Studio in November 2018, an artist-friendly studio space that provides creators, specifically women and gender diverse people, a space to delve into their creative ideas and bridge gaps between communities.
For the last decade she has been the image and design curator for international print magazine Archer, which provides a print platform for lesser heard voices through stories and pictures, and most recently, an original content creator for Passionfruit Sensuality Shop, an online and brick and mortar shop with a focus on sex and pleasure education based in Fitzroy.
She has been running her own photography business for the last six years based at Bighouse Arts in Coburg, taking portraits of those in arts and entertainment. Hailey is a Melbourne-based photographer and stylist who loves to shoot on film and volunteer at op-shops to support her vintage addiction.
