Queer PHOTO - Activity: Explore Your Alter Ego with Sammaneh Pourshafighi

Come and explore gender through makeup, mask making, and photography with award-winning artist Sammaneh Pourshafighi.

Queer, Persian artist Sammaneh Pourshafighi will guide you through a hands-on activity and photoshoot centred around experimenting and developing your own alter ego.

Throughout this interactive workshop you will:

• Learn practical skills in character and world-building
• Explore queerness, gender, and the significance of communities and family
• Experiment with props, art materials, makeup, and wigs 
• Be encouraged to express find and express your alter ego 
• Create your own photographic portraits.

What should I bring?

Materials will be provided but participants are also encouraged to bring along their own costumes, makeup, props, or other materials they wish to work with as an inspiration point, for example, an item of clothing, costume, their own makeup or brushes, accessories, wigs, etc.

This is a drop-in workshop so come along and stay for 10 minutes or a whole hour!

This event is free but capacity is limited so bookings are essential.
